Easter is fast approaching and we are busy planning another fun-packed programme of activities for the Easter holidays!

Play Scheme dates:
Week 1: Tuesday 6th April to Friday 9th April from 10am to 3pm
Week 2: Monday 12th April to Friday 16th April from 10am to 3pm

£20 per day unless stated otherwise.

Outing dates and times
John Lyon swimming pool has been booked. The children will be swimming daily apart from trip days so please ensure they have their kits.

Friday 9th April Trip to Whipsnade Zoo - £10

We were fortunate to receive funding from the Alexandra Rose Charities Special Fund towards this outing, so are able to offer places at a one off, subsidised rate of £10.
The COACH will be DEPARTING from Kids Can Achieve at 10am and RETURNING to Kids Can Achieve at 3pm.
Please bring a packed lunch and you may give your child up to £5 spending money for the gift shop

Friday 16th April Trip to Thames Valley - £20 + day rate

The COACH will be DEPARTING from Kids Can Achieve at 10am and RETURNING to Kids Can Achieve at 3pm. Please bring a packed lunch and provide child with warm clothing and if raining on this day a waterproof coat

Please complete the booking form and return to the centre with full payment in order to secure your place. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Cheques should be made payable to Kids Can Achieve and must be sent in with the completed booking form. We will only contact you if we are unable to offer you the places you have requested. Book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

What your child should bring

• A healthy packed lunch - labelled with their name preferably in a cool bag
• Any special food/drinks they require - labelled with their name
• A coat/jacket for outdoor wear - labelled with their name
• A change of clothes if likely to need them - labelled with their name
• Please do not send your child in with toys from home. We have plenty at play scheme. Children can get upset if another child plays with their own toy or if it gets lost or broken.

More about food
Kids Can Achieve would like to encourage all kids attending the centre to learn healthy eating habits. Please assist us where possible by limiting the amounts of biscuits, crisps and squashes in their lunch boxes. Do not send your child in with sweets. We provide some biscuits and “treats”. Let us know on the booking form of any allergies/intolerances. Please avoid sending in foods containing nuts.

Drop off and pick up
Play Scheme does not start until 10am and ends at 3pm. There will not be staff available to look after your children before 10am, this is their preparation time. There is a late pick up fee of £5 per 15 minutes for children not collected by 3pm.

Absence
Please give us at least 24 hours notice of absence, where possible - it helps us to arrange staffing for that day and to offer another child that place.
There will be no refunds or days in lieu for days missed if we haven’t had at least 24 hours notice.
If your child does not attend play scheme and we haven’t heard from you they will go the bottom of the waiting list for the next scheme.
If your child’s place is being funded by the ADHD Support Group and they are absent without prior notice you will be asked to re-imburse the ADHD Support Group.

 

Summer Play Scheme

Thanks to some funding from Aiming High for Disabled Children and The Four Acre Trust, we were able to provide extra special activities this Summer. This included spaces for up to ten extra children per day and relocating the scheme the John Lyon School.

This was a fantastic venue for our kids and the Youth Group, giving them plenty of outdoor space, use of the pool and the opportunity to join with another group who were also using the school this Summer.

The children also benefitted from a busy schedule of outings, including Whipsnade Zoo, Coral Reef Swimming Pool, Look Out Discovery Centre, Knebworth House and Chessington World of Adventures.
